Barb's Challenge

Well, I did it! I used the image and the scalloped rectangle that Barb sent me for her Random Mail Stamp Challenge to make this card. What do you think? I think it turned out okay. Do you wanna play? Leave me a comment, and I'll send YOU a random stamped image, too!

Finally a post!

September Gardner Stamp Club Swaps, Theme is Fall, from top - Marilyn, Vickie, Barb, Melissa, Mine

This is Barb's make-n-take that we all made, it's a Fold-Over Treat Envelope first seen in the TAC catty. Barb tells more about it here, and much more eloquently, too. :) And, Barb took both of these pics, the swap pic was on our Gardner Stamp Club page and the Envelope on her blog. How sad, I couldn't even take the time to take a picture myself. :( Oh well, Barb's pics are WAY better!

I agreed to participate in Barb's Random Mail Stamp Challenge, she told you about it here...and plan to actually get to it tonight! I misplaced the image she sent me, but finally found it last night. I'd like to get one more post in this month, cause I've been SLACKING (in all fairness, I've been fighting some sort of illness and spend most of my time at home coughing which in turn gives me a headache and we've been breaking the little guy from his pacifier, so I've had my hands full!) and haven't done much. :( Tonight is the night to get this done! I've got an idea, and hopefully I'll have it posted before midnight! Anyhoo, check out Barb's site and you'll find the other gals that have participated on the right side of her page. There's some cute stuff there! :) If you'd like to be the next to participate, leave a comment and I'll send you a random stamped image and the directions for the challenge!

Until this evening....

Another girls get together!

Mine

Francine

Jeanie

Michelle

I got together with the girls again this weekend. We did another shoebox party, this time making 2 items to share. We stamped for about 5 hours, ate lots of yummy food and made lots of fun stuff!
I made a card with 2 different colored bases. But, I cut my second pink CS wrong and changed up the purple card. I ended up liking it the best! The other is a mini post it note holder made from a coaster. So simple and pretty cute, too!
Francine's cards were super cute! Pretty detailed, with quite a few steps, but worth the time it took to make them. I love the mummy, I stamped a few extra so hopefully I can come up with something equally cute to make with them!
Jeanie's Christmas card was extremely simple, just the way I like it! I love the use of patterned paper, I HOARD paper so I should have lots to choose from when casing this...which I definitely plan to do! The other is another post it note holder that holds the 3x3 sized pad. It's made from an acrylic picture frame, you know those cheapie dollar ones. I believe there was a tutorial on SCS for it. What a quick, easy and useful, gift!
Michelle's card was simple, too. You know I like simple! We colored in the image with the SU pastels. So cute! I'm not a big fan of coloring (well, with anything other than crayons anyway) but love the look! The box is really cute, too! Again, really easy, and with a little stamping makes for a cute party favor!
I love it when we are able to get together. I wish we could do it more!

OMG!

OMG! I haven't made anything new in too long, I'm going through withdrawal! I have to make something this weekend though, cause the girls are coming over and we are doing another Christmas shoebox party! So, I DO have to find time to make something, well, 2 somethings, for it. Plus an entree and drinks, and I need to clean up some, too. When exactly will I find time to do all of this????
Anyhoo, here is a onesie I made for my good friend Erin's baby shower. I made a onesie card to give her, with snaps on the bottom but forgot to take a picture. I made a bunch of these and strung them together to make a garland. Everyone seemed to like them. I also used this Sweet One stamp from SU and the scallop punch to make cutlery wraps (attached the punched image to a strip of cardstock and wrapped around the silverware and napkins). Simple, but cute. I also wrapped a couple of small drinking cups for use in one of our shower games, Bottom's Up. :) It's a game with little plastic babies (by Wilton, in the cake decorating aisle), you put them in a cup and roll them like dice and try to get their bottoms to land up! We never actually played it, because it was a couples shower and you KNOW how boys are, but still a fun game idea!
Wow, I ended up having more to say here than I orginally thought! Huh? Well, today is mine and my husband's anniversary! Four glorious years! So, even though he'll be working til very late tonight, I probably still won't find any time to make anything. But, I'll try to do something before he gets home. We are going out Saturday night, nothing fancy, we have free tickets to the Royals game so we are going to get the free stocking cap. I don't know what else we'll do, the boats? How very romantic! And smoky! Yuck! We went to Argosy earlier this month for Jeff's birthday, and I'd forgotten how incredibly smoky those places are. I could smell it in the revolving door at the front, and it just got worse the further in we walked. I'm glad that we don't go very often, it had probably been 3 years since I've been out there. And, I guess I'll be fine if I wait another 3 years to go again. We did make some money there though! Gotta love the penny slots! We left with more money than we went with, even after Jeff's beers, so it was a successful evening!
(OKAY, SO THE SPACES BETWEEN PARAGRAPHS AREN'T STAYING ONCE I PUBLISH, STOP THAT!)

Gooseberry Patch

I love Gooseberry Patch! They have the cutest stuff, the BEST cookbooks (my FAVORITES!) and I love all of the free recipes I get from their newsletter. Sometimes, I even find time to MAKE them! Here's a recipe I got in today's newsletter. I love freshly-baked bread, and this is just too simple!

Honey Quick Bread

2-1/2 c. all-purpose flour

1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 t. baking powder
1/4 t. cinnamon

1/2 c. oil
1-1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. honey

Mix all ingredients together; spoon into a greased and floured 9"x5" loaf pan. Let stand for 20 minutes; bake at 375 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. Makes one loaf.

I made some of Will's birthday invites last night and they are no where near as cute as I'd hoped. I had been lucky enough to find some Cars stamps a while back but they just din't work out for this. :-( Would have been too much work. So I just embellished my black and red layered cards with Cars stickers. Eh. :-( Maybe I can make something post-worthy tonight. We'll see. I am feeling better!

I've been under the weather this past week, I hope to maybe try to make something tomorrow. Hopefully! I've been itchin for some craftin!

Enabler Alert!!!!

I went to Archiver's today for a LEGITIMATE reason...to get B&W checkered paper for Will's birthday invites cause nobody else has any. Well, they now have the new extra-giga scalloped Marvy punches. They are HUGE! I was going to use my 30% off coupon on a Hot Spot item because I didn't need anything else. Well, new plan, the circle extra-giga had to come home with me. Dang it! I really need to save money, AND THIS AIN'T HELPING! I'll be back again after the 16th to use my other coupon on another extra-giga I guess.

Somebody please post and tell me they did the same thing!

Saturday Night Fun

Well, I was able to sneak in a few goodies last night. I started the note card holder the other night but didn't finish it because I ran out of adhesive. I finally finished it, and guess it turned out okay...there was too much black though.
I made the double pocket bag and matching cards with some new paper I hadn't used before. I didn't embellish much, just kept it super simple. I guess I could add a gift card for a quick gift!
I probably won't make anything else tonight, I'm super tired. I think I'm going to just veg and watch some tv. Sounds like a great night to me!

I ran out of adhesive twice tonight...

I made lots of cards tonight! I pretty much only used what I had upstairs, which wasn't much. I did have to run down once to get a few things to finish up the special day and the birthday card. I'm very happy with how these 2 turned out, and they were both made with all scraps! The bandana print even came from my scrap box, I don't even remember when I used the rest of it. Yea for me! And, Barb will recognize the circle from the special day card, it came from HER scrap box. A couple weekends ago when I stamped at her house for her scrap day, I hoarded that little circle hoping I could find something to do with it. I never did, so she MADE me take it home. I am so VERY happy with how this card turned out. It is my favorite! The trick or treat one is okay, it's missing something. I'm just not very good with the creepy, guess I should leave that to Barb. I even made another note card holder, but after running out of adhesive for the second time, I didn't feel like running after more. I'll finish it tomorrow.
Have a nice weekend, y'all!

A couple of quickies...

I made these with some scraps from the last couple of things I've made. I've got some pretty cute (well, one is cute) cards I made last night to send to our grandparents for Grandparents Day on Sunday. I'll post them either Saturday or Sunday after they've gotten them.

Happy Halloween!

Yea, I finally made something tonight! (Sorry the pic isn't better, the battery died as soon as I took this. I need to find a good place for taking pics of these, any suggestions?) I was sick all weekend, still am, but was set on making something tonight. It was quick and easy, I cased it from Patti's swap card from our last stamp club. Barb, you'll be so proud of me...it's a Halloweenie card!! Now, what I really need to be making is birthday invitations....Cars (the movie) invitations actually. So, hopefully, but not probably, those will be the next thing I post.... Why didn't I focus on those tonight? What was I thinking?
